The Mystery Booster Commander bulletin includes smaller gameplay clarifications alongside Rulebreaker and the meld category change . These entries explain what to look up when a specific situation arises; they do not require every player to rebuild a deck.
Check the rule version first
On October 27, 2026, the official rules page still linked the September 25 Comprehensive Rules . The October 19 bulletin describes planned changes. A rule number alone is not enough: for example, 903.5e in that download concerns sideboards, while the bulletin uses that number for planned Rulebreaker support. Bring the document date when discussing a ruling.
Battles at zero defense
Bulletin reference: 122.1g. The announcement aligns defense-counter wording with an existing state-based action for a non-Siege battle that has no defense counters. This is not a new instruction to treat every battle as a defeated Siege.
When asking about a battle, identify its subtype and the action being checked. A zero-counter situation and a Siege’s own ability are different questions.
Naming an Adventure
Bulletin reference: 201.4f. The clarification explicitly includes an Adventure’s spell name when an effect asks for a card name. Omen and prepared-spell names were already addressed.
Identify the effect asking for a name before applying this clarification. Naming a spell is separate from deciding whether a creature card fits Tolabow’s deckbuilding permission .
Casting several spells during resolution
Bulletin reference: 608.2g. If one resolving effect permits several spells to be cast, its player chooses their casting order. This clarification does not turn that instruction into permission to cast unrelated cards.
Start with the exact effect granting permission. Record which spells it allows and which order you choose, then consult the effective rules for the subsequent resolution.
Zone-change replacement effects
Bulletin reference: 614.13a. The announcement combines the previous 614.13b treatment and extends its scope beyond entering the battlefield to changes involving other zones. It is not a new general permission to choose any moving card.
For a difficult interaction, provide the replacement effect and all objects changing zones together. The exact text and simultaneous movement matter more than a shorthand rule number.
New rules vocabulary
Bulletin references: 205.3j and 207.2c. Seven planeswalker subtypes are listed: Arzakon, Dyfed, Feroz, Greensleeves, Sifa, Thomil and Worzel. Rulebreaker joins the ability-word list; each card still supplies its own exception.
Source for these announced changes: Eric Levine’s October 19 update bulletin . Checked October 27, 2026; the publication date remains October 19.
If your question is about a starting deck rather than a game action, use the card-name and deck-list checker . It checks selected construction conditions, not these gameplay interactions. Compare Constructed Commander and MBC Draft before applying an event exception.
